Text: Prov. 23:26
Introduction: Who is worthy of receiving our heart? Who will take care of it?
To whom can we give our heart, having deep tranquility and peace in knowing that
THIS PERSON will never hurt us?
We are starting a new year, perhaps you have already given your heart to wrong relationships, wrong friendships... Today we are going to learn about someone to whom we can give our heart without any reservations, because He will never disappoint us...
1 – The Samaritan woman gave her heart to temporary relationships.
- Jesus led her to consider her irregular state: five husbands (John 4:16-18).
- Jesus offers an eternal relationship (John 4:13-14).
- Jesus led her to a relationship with God (John 4:23-24). That woman had always given her heart to fleeting relationships, but now, she gave her heart to an eternal relationship.
2 – The rich young man gave his heart to riches (Mt. 19:16-30).
- He desired eternal life, but was attached to earthly goods (Mt. 19:16-22).
- His religiosity limited him (Mt. 19:20).
- His heart was attached to the riches of this world (Mt. 19:22).
He desired salvation, but was attached to riches that are transitory, to the detriment of our greatest wealth, which is to live with Christ for all eternity.
3 – The sinful woman poured out her heart at the feet of Jesus (Lk. 7:37).
- She poured out her past: a vessel of balm (Lk. 7:37).
- She poured out her repentance: tears (Lk. 7:38). - Shed her pride and vanity: the hair that dries (Luke 7:38).
Dear Leader:- Conclude by speaking to the visitors: God wants our heart completely. When we give our heart completely to the Lord, He starts to take care of every detail of it... Every dream, desire, need, in short, all the other things we need, in the right time He takes care of, provides for, and blesses!
Make the appeal, Jesus does not want your heart divided... He wants it completely. Do you want to give your heart to Jesus today? Then pray this prayer of surrender with me now...
Tip:- On this day, make a heart-shaped souvenir with a verse that God places in your heart
“...You will seek the Lord your God, and you will find Him, when you search for Him with all your heart and with all your soul.” (Deuteronomy 4:29).
